Reynolds Guitars Newsletter #2

Reynolds Guitars Update

The past year has certainly been a busy period for me. I do have a new web site in design and it will incorporate a number of new features not the least of which is a newsletter similar to this paper to help keep you updated while you're on the interminable waiting list for one of my new guitars. I want to thank you for your patience and confidence and I intend to make every effort to be as productive as possible consistent with making each guitar the best that it can be.

The Double Top Guitar

During the last year I have developed a totally new design, which incorporates the Double Top concept, and you're probably aware of that. What you may not know is all of the work required, beginning with the need to make new blueprints, new molds, find a new case flight case manufacturer (Calton), develop a vacuum frame system for laminating and bracing, incorporate new glues and adhesives plus develop out a new elevated neck design. All of this plus a complete interior design for the soundboard while identifying promising new bracing systems (3) and internal structures. There is much more that I could go on about including a new neck joint system, but suffice it to say there has been a major effort here to put in place the infrastructure to support the Double Top and help it realize it's potential.

I have just finished the third in a series of Brazilian/European Spruce Double Tops all with David Rodgers tuners and this has been a great inspiration for me to say the least. I'll give a short description of each one and include some pictures for your interest:

See you next time!
